Is Governance in OT Necessary? InfraSec 2025

📅 It’s March, and the excitement from the 9th edition of #InfraSECForum2025 🛡️ has settled, but the reflections and discussions continue. I had the great pleasure of being a speaker at this event, sharing my insights on the topic “Is #Governance in #OT Necessary?”.
🎤 In my presentation, I focused on the role of governance in OT (Operational Technology) within critical infrastructure. Today, as cyber threats become more sophisticated and regulatory requirements—such as #NIS2, #CRA, and #AI Act—present new challenges, governance in OT becomes absolutely crucial.
👉 In critical infrastructure sectors, where operational security directly impacts society and the economy, effective management of OT security is indispensable. Proper governance ensures compliance with regulations, mitigates risks associated with cyber threats, and facilitates the integration of new technologies like AI in a way that does not compromise the integrity of OT systems.
👉 Regulations like NIS2 emphasize the need for robust mechanisms for managing, monitoring, and responding to incidents within OT in critical infrastructure. Well-organized governance is the only way to balance the demands of technological innovation with the security and continuity of operations.
❓ What are your thoughts on this topic? Is governance in OT within critical infrastructure a priority in your organization? What challenges do you face in implementing such solutions? I encourage you to share your insights in the comments!
If you’d like to discuss these topics further, feel free to send me a private message. I’d be happy to exchange experiences and answer any questions!
